SRC Beginner 5K Coaching 

Our premiere 5K coaching program is for both newcomers and more seasoned runners aiming to elevate their 5K performance. With a holistic approach, we assess your current fitness level to tailor achievable goals, ensuring a personalized roadmap to your next race’s starting line. Whether you're eyeing a local race or one that fits your unique schedule, we provide a curated list of options to align with your timeline. 

What sets this program apart is the comprehensive, high-touch support system encompassing every aspect of your training journey guided by a professional coach who cares. 

What’s included?

Coaching participants will receive:

• 8-weeks of customized coaching delivered via the TrainingPeaks platform

• Individual onboarding call with your coach

• Bi-weekly indoor track workouts for YYC runners held at Mount Royal University / Riley Park

• A Slack community where you can connect with other SRC athletes 

• Pre-race support including a race-day plan, individual pre-race call with your coach, and a fuelling guide to help you nail your race-day nutrition

• If you choose to continue on with 1-on-1 coaching after the race weekend we will waive the 100.00 onboarding fee

  • I'm not located in YYC, can I still participate?
    You bet! Runners from anywhere in the world can join this cohort. The only difference for participants outside Calgary will be that they do not take part in our in-person group training.
  • Where and when are your group practices?
    During the winter we practice bi-weekly at the Mount Royal College indoor track. Practices are held Thursday evenings at 7pm. In April we move our practices outdoors to Riley Park. These practices are held Tuesday evenings at 6pm.
  • What is your refund policy?
    Running is a high-impact sport and we acknowledge that injuries can happen. As professional running coaches working within our scope of practice is essential. This means that in the event of a suspected injury we will urge you to seek guidance from a medical professional to determine the appropriate next steps and when you can safely return to running. Please note that if you withdraw from the program past the halfway point a refund cannot be provided. If something disrupts your training before the halfway point of the program you will be offered free signup for a future group program.
