As we cruise into December the SRC crew continues to tackle races from Turkey Trots to marathons.
We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the SRC athletes that raced the California International Marathon yesterday.
Christine McKernan punched her ticket to Boston, running a sizeable PB of 3:31:2.
Stephan Girard shaved a cool 16min. off of his previous marathon time crossing the finish line exactly where we had hoped with a 3:10:44. Stephan has had a banner year of running executing on best times in the 5K, 10K, half + marathon. Way to go!
Kim Girard showed up to the start line with the mindset of a champion and ran herself another BQ! Kim’s marathon build took an abrupt and unexpected turn late in marathon training. We were quick to change course and Kim didn’t skip a beat hopping on the bike and in the pool while working hard with her physio to rehab a shin issue. Largely due to Kim’s diligence and respect for the distance she made it to the start line healthy which is always a win.
Big should out to Christy Palmer who ran Mystic Beaver 6hr in Bremerton, WA on November 18th, as well as Ericka Dirkmaat and Kevin Hansen for crushing Turkey Trots over the US Thanksgiving holiday!
