Keeping Pace Training bLog June 20-26
Happy Monday!
It feels like the most Monday-esque Monday ever and it's only 6:23am.
With Garmin being down I quit running, sorry no bLog this week. Kidding! I manually entered in my runs like I did before I had a watch with Bluetooth and was too lazy to track down the cord to upload to my computer more than once a millennia.

I ran a cool 58.5 miles this week. In and around 60-65 miles is my mileage sweet spot, and I decided to not try and tip that nice balance this season.

Monday: 6 x 2 min. hills @ 10km effort (I ran these around a 5:50 - 5:59 min/mile)
Tuesday: I did not run a progression (typo), just an easy 10 miles
Wednesday: easy 8
Thursday: 5 mile tempo! Tempos are always my Achilles Heel! But with all of the progression runs leading into this, it was comfortable and smooth. Slower than my HMP last year, but as I said on IG - this is normal and expected.
Friday: Rest day/stripped my workout clothes using borax, Tide and washing soda
Saturday: Fun long run! This once was decently challenging with a 6 mile warmup, 5 miles of 1 min. @ 10km/1 min. easy, 1 mile easy, 1 mile hard (6:18 min/mile), 3 miles easy
Sunday: super easy 5 miles
On the strength side of life, I am finishing up the last two weeks of pre-competition programming and will be shifting into strength maintenance for the 10 weeks leading into my marathon.
I hope you all have a great week and beat the heat (or join it) for your runs.
Run until you fly,
Coach Lynsey
